Cashless Catering System
The Green Tree Cafe operates a cashless catering system, meaning students are not required to carry cash with them. Funds can be added to student's lunch account via Parent Pay. Payments can be made by credit card or debit card. When topping up a student's lunch account, please ensure that payment is made a day before it is required, so that the funds are cleared and available for use.
Our biometric system is based on fingerprint recognition technology. The system works by taking measurements of the fingerprints, but they do not capture a complete image. This means that the original fingerprint cannot be reconstructed from the data.
The benefits of the system include.
- No cash in the dining hall - smoother meal service and has sped up delivery and reduced queues.
- Reduced administration through prepayment for meals
- Parents and carers no longer have to worry about finding dinner money each day
- Children with free school meals are anonymous.
Students who are entitled to Free School Meals will receive a daily payment of £2.30 added to their cashless catering account. This payment can be used before school, break time or lunch time. If their £2.30 allowance is not used, the payment will not be carried over to the following school day. If students wish to purchase other food/drink items that will take them over their daily allowance of £2.30, payment can be added to their lunch account using ParentPay.
